Nintendo 3DS
This past Sunday Nintendo released the Nintendo 3DS. This is the second 3D system and the first portable one. The first 3D system the Nintendo Virtual Boy bombed right after release in 1995. This failed system hurt your eyes when you played. This system is a evolved version of the Nintendo DS and  DSi. This system has a 3D slider which can enhance and deplete 3D depending on which way you slide it. Unlike popular 3D where it pops out at you this pulls you in.
Controls: They are exactly the same to an older DS except for that it has a joystick. This joystick does pop out of the system it is merely a bigger and different version of the PSP joystick. Because of this it has moved the D-Pad down. This system also comes with a home button that easily brings you to the 3DS menu. Just like the previous DS’s it comes with a touch screen and a viewing screen, and to touch the touch screen it supplies you with a stylus. Like the DSi and DSi XL this comes with camera’s. There are two on the outer face and one on the top of the inner viewing screen. You can use these camera’s to take pictures of yourself and others. You can also make Miis from your photo. This character will represent you at all times when using the 3DS. On the top screen right side is the 3-D slider it has three versions of 3-D, thus making it easy to pick your favorite type of 3-D depending on the game your playing.
Features: When ever you turn on the system you’re brought to the HOME menu. This stores your downloaded software, games, camera and more. Whenever you feel like you are bored of your current games you can easily go to the 3DS shop via the Home Menu there you can download new software and other apps easily. Some apps/games require nintendo points these can be bought at retailers on cards that require a scratch off code. One of the new things Nintendo is hyping is the AR games (AR stands for augmented reality). This is a card that comes in the box of the 3DS when pointing a special camera on the 3DS at the card, and because of this the game will give you games to play on the system just by reading the card. In the future Nintendo will sell other cards/games. Nintendo plans to release several of these AR games. Nintendo has also extended their wi-fi options and made it easier to surf the web. Sadly the 3DS only has six hours of battery life but Nintendo or a third party is planning to make a better battery for the system.
Games: Last but not least we will tell you about the games that will be available to be bought at release there will be 6 new games for release. Pilot Wings Resort, $39.99, Super Street Fighter IV $39.99, Lego Star Wars 3D, $39.99, Steel Diver, $39.99, Madden Football 3D $39.99 and Nintendo Dogs+Cats (3 Variations).  Nintendo is also planning on releasing Zelda, Kid Icarus and Star Fox games for this system. Will this system be the future of gaming or will it bomb? We will find out soon! Coming soon Nintendo 3DS review! By Alex and Nate

Frita Batidos review by CMKjunk

Restaurant Review:  Frita Batido
Last week, we went to eat out in downtown Ann Arbor. We saw a new restaurant near Main Street called Frita Batido. This was a new restaurant that opened in December. The interior was mainly white and gray with fluorescent lighting, a sharp contrast to many of the other restaurants in Ann Arbor, which are mainly in older brick buildings. I noticed that they had candles all around the inside. There was one big painting of a flower. There was a line where we ordered our food. The person waiting to take our order at the counter was extremely nice. He even gave my brother and I some chocolate syrup from the dish churros con chocolate. They even had a special menu for people who don’t eat certain foods or have allergies. We ordered two black bean fritas (their burgers), these fritas were pretty much burgers, with fries in the middle and flavored mayo. When I took my first bite, I absolutely loved the burger. The black bean patty was cooked to perfection. It was amazing. The fries that they put in the frita might have been some of the best fries I have ever tried in my life. I was getting thirsty and noticed that instead of serving us water, the restaurant left plastic cups at each table and a glass, corked bottle of water with the cups. That was a good idea, because the diners could get the water themselves. The waiter brought out a drink that I had ordered, fresh coconut water. 5 stars for presentation on that drink! They had taken the coconut and shaved it just enough so that it was like a pyramid. They then chopped the top off  to make a hole, and after inserting a little umbrella and a straw to give that tropical experience, the work of art was complete. They also served the lime ginger water that my parents ordered differently too. They took some ice and the ginger water and served it in a plastic bag that had a straw in it. They told us that in parts of South America they would serve drinks like that, so they served certain drinks that way as well. This shows the traditional essence of the food served and that the food was not just for effect, but for purpose. When we left, the waiter escorted us out and thanked us for eating there. One thing I noticed was the philanthropist attitude that the owner had. In the restaurant, it said that she had donated to many causes in Cuba. This impressed me a lot. It told me that the owner not only was willing to use the food given by the Cuban community to his benefit, but was willing to give back to the Cuban community. Overall, I would say that this is a good restaurant that I would like to go to again. I would rate it 8.5 out of 10.

Ohio State vs. Michigan

This year's edition of one of College Football's greatest rivalries is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in years. The highlight this season for both teams has been their electric quarterbacks, Denard Robinson and Terrelle Pryor, who both are "dual threats"; they can throw and run the football exceptionally well. Robinson ranks third in the nation in rushing yards per game, while Pryor's specialty is in the passing game, where he is one the country's most efficient. Both teams will put up amazing offensive numbers behind their stars, but the difference comes down to defense. Whichever team can rise to the challenge of the opposing quarterback will win. Michigan and Ohio State both boast solid run defenses, led by Mike Martin and Cameron Heyward, respectively. However, Michigan's porous pass defense hasn't been able to handle anyone this season, and Pryor will be no exception. Prediction: Robinson keeps the wolverines in it early, but Pryor gashes the Michigan defense, leading Ohio State to a 45- 24 win.

Varsity B-ball scores thrilling win vs. Steiner

The basketball team's victory on Tuesday was one of the most exciting in recent memory. Rudolf Steiner quickly went ahead 6-0 within the first three minutes, and lead 14-3 near the end of the first quarter before Emerson began its comeback. They finished the first quarter on a 4-0 run to pull within seven, and played a solid second period to send the game into halftime down just 18-24. Emerson started the third with 5 straight points, but Steiner responded with a couple baskets of their own. Control of the game continued to seesaw back and forth, and with one quarter left the eagles trailed by four. Emerson came out for the fourth in the "press" defense, which pressures the ball-handler down the entire court as opposed to the normal defense which is less relentless, only defending the dribbler in the half-court. The "press" wreaked havoc, creating easy fast-break layups off of multiple steals. Emerson finally took the lead in the last two minutes, 37-35. After a basket and a steal on defense, Steiner had two free throws with the score knotted up at 37. They converted 1 out of 2, and were up 38-37 with 56 seconds left. But Emerson came through with a score to regain the lead, 39-38. Another Eagles foul on defense gave Steiner two more free throws, but they missed both! With twenty seconds left, Emerson tried to run out the clock, but steiner stole the ball. In a frenzy, Steiner missed two shots, and Emerson secured the rebound to seal the win. Rahul was named the player of the game as Emerson improved their record to 2-0 in dramatic fashion.

Heisman watch: November 8

1. Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
This ranking assumes that Newton will face no punishment or suspension
following his alleged scandal. His stats are amazing: 1,146 rushing yards
and 1,890 throwing yards. He's the overwhelming favorite barring suspension
or injury despite a mediocre game against Chattanooga last week.

2. LaMichael James, RB, Oregon
James remains in the runner-up spot after an amazing game against Washington.
He's the best running back in the nation playing for the best team in the nation,
but he does not throw the ball, putting him behind Newton. James would probably
win the award if Newton falters or faces suspension from a recent scandal.

3. Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State
Boise State's efficient signal-caller rounds out the top three. He's been ridiculously
consistent, but he does not run the ball and makes less big plays than Newton and
James. Add the fact that he plays an unimpressive schedule, and his chances of taking
home the Heisman are slim even if Newton drops out of the race due to suspension.

Heisman watch: Special Report

 Newton in Trouble?

Just weeks after the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush gave up his award to runner-up Vince Young due to a scandal, the possession of another Heisman appears to be in jeopardy: the 2010 edition. Last night, news broke that the front-runner in this year's race, Cam Newton, could be in trouble. A man who represented Newton while he was being recruited by multiple teams allegedly asked Mississippi State  for nearly $200,000 in order for Newton to play for them. Under NCAA rules, bribing a recruit with money is strictly forbidden, particularly with such a large amount of cash. This scandal could cost Newton a shot at the Heisman; a suspension of multiple games would virtually kill his campaign. The NCAA has already launched an investigation on the matter, but there is no word so far on punishment. As it is, even suspicion could hurt Newton''s chances. One thing is for sure: The Heisman is now as up in the air as it's been in weeks.
