Emerson Cooking Elective

Madame Jeri began teaching a cooking elective this year. Madame herself is a wonderful chef and thought it would be a fun to share her talents and recipes with our fellow Emerson students. On two the days of the week Madame's cooking class makes food, and on the other day the class watches television programs about how to work in the kitchen. Some of the delicious items they make are pizza, queso, and tacos.
I have personally tasted each dish and thought they were fantastic. The goal of the class is to teach the students how to make simple yet delicious meals and inform them about nutrition. The Chili con Queso consisted of melted Velveeta cheese, chopped chili peppers, milk and the option of salsa. The pizzas that the children made, started on to-go pizza crusts then they added the toppings, cheese, tomato, sour cream, and even chicken. The last dish they prepared was the tacos. They were my favorite! The taco ingredients were beef, chicken, seasoning, and any toppings were allowed. Madame will be teaching this class next year and hopes to teach many more students about cooking and the ways in the kitchen.
Everyone in cooking highly recommends this class.
