Last Thursday’s game was an exciting game that Emerson mainly controlled. Through most of the game Emerson controlled the offensive side of the field. The defense for Emerson was out- standing, lead by Orly Rubinfield, Alex Vidovic and Hayden Braun. Key plays in the first half included Mark Wurster’s free kick from 30 yards away for a goal and an offside called on Frank Pelosi which disallowed an Emerson goal. A second half penalty kick awarded to Emerson for a handball in the box gave Mark Wurster a penalty kick and it dinged off the post. No goal. Less than four minutes later Peter Michalides had a break away and got a shot off before the keeper upended him and he landed on his back and did an amazing somersault. The final score was Emerson 2 and Stiener 0.
