The CROP Walk
The CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Walk is a walk to raise awareness of world hunger throughout America. The CROP Walk I went to was hosted at Zion Lutheran Church. There was a short route and a long route. The long route was 10 kilometers ( 6 miles) and the short route was a mile. In the beginning of the walk everyone goes in a big clump, then the clump eventually splits off into two groups for the long route and the short route. The long route really wore everyone out, but everyone agreed that they could not have asked for a more beautiful day to do it. The CROP walk took place on Sunday, October 10th, 2010. There were five or six water and rest stops along the way with friendly faces bringing out water and cold refreshments. After the walk, everyone had a delicious chili dinner. I look forward to next year’s walk. By Ciaran
