On Monday the 17th of May, the 6th grade students of Dr. Flaherety's class got to do the ever popular tradition of edible bridge building. The students were challenged to build a bridge at least 7 inches in length and at least 3 inches in height, in groups of two or three. This bridge must be built of entirely edible materials, and must stay within a set budget. Instead of using glue, the students were given marshmallow fluff or frosting. The materials will be bought in play money and each item was worth a different amount. The students also had to write a report on a real bridge, and complete a bridge classification sheet by Thursday. And finally, at the end, the students get to eat their creations.
