1. Cameron Newton, QB, Auburn
The "dual threat" quarterback is now in the driver's seat in the race after
a big game against LSU. Barring injury, he should win the Heisman unless a
team can do something no previous opponent of Newton's has: stop him
2. LaMichael James, RB, Oregon
The sophmore running back continues to dominate for the ducks, leading
the nation in rushing yards per game. He'll stay in the race if he keeps up
his pace, but he'll need Newton to falter to win the trophy
3. Denard Robinson, QB, Michigan
Robinson ranks second in the nation in rushing, right behind James. Our
very own quarterback is still right in the race; his stats are still some of the
most impressive in the nation. This weekend's game against Penn state could
determine whether he launches back into the contention or falls out of discussion
4. Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State
The consistency of Moore has kept him in the race so far, but he simply isn't as
impressive as the other candidates. Add the fact that he plays a weak schedule
and he'll need a miracle to take home the hardware.
5. Terrelle Pryor, QB, Ohio State
Rounding out the list is Pryor, the pre-season favorite, Pryor. A loss against rival
Wisconsin hurt his chances, and now he'll need a few huge games to get back into
the tight race.
